Away From Home
The first novel in the Sands of Time series
Victoria Williams has her future planned. A recent graduate of Manhattan’s Stuyvesant High School, she’s heading to Cairo to pursue her dream of studying Egyptology at the American University in Cairo. But when a catastrophic plane crash plunges her into the Nile, her life takes a turn she could never have imagined.
Victoria awakens in ancient Egypt in 1343 BCE, during the turbulent reign of Pharaoh Akhenaten. Suddenly, the civilization she’s spent years dreaming of studying becomes the world she must learn to survive. Struggling to master an unfamiliar language and navigate ancient Egyptian customs, she finds herself entangled in royal intrigue, dangerous secrets, and shifting alliances. With her martial arts training as one of her few advantages, Victoria must rely on her courage, resourcefulness, and determination to survive.
As Victoria becomes immersed in the complexities of ancient Egyptian life, she must navigate a world where appearances can be deceiving, loyalties are constantly tested, and danger lurks around every corner. Finding her way home will require more than courage; she’ll need to uncover the truth behind the mysteries surrounding her and discover whom she can trust.
Stranded thousands of years from home, Victoria must find her place in a world she thought she knew—before the past becomes her future.
Will she find her way back to her own time, or will the mysteries of ancient Egypt change her destiny forever?
